The Prime Minister pointed out that the holding of the third joint session of the two governments testifies to the commitment to improving cooperation and expressed her belief that the memorandums signed will contribute to stronger cooperation, primarily in the fields of education, science, technological development and innovation.
As Brnabic assessed, the greatest possibility for the improvement of economic cooperation is the increase of Cypriot direct investments in the economy of Serbia, and she called on Cypriot companies to invest more in the Serbian market.
The Prime Minister voiced her expectation that, in addition to increasing trade, the two countries will also consider cooperation in the fields of energy, agriculture and tourism, in which they countries have significant potential.
President Christodoulidis said that Cyprus is committed to speeding up the process of accession of the Western Balkan countries to the European Union and conveyed firm support to Serbia on its European path, bearing in mind that only such a policy ensures stability in the region and Europe.
Saying that the two countries have the same stance when it comes to respect for international law, the Prime Minister thanked Cyprus for its continued support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Serbia.
