Preserving health and caring for the ill are fundamental responsibilities of any society that values humanity. The way we approach healthcare reflects the health of our worldviews. Modern technologies and the modernisation of healthcare institutions, along with the entire treatment process, should contribute to the preservation and enhancement of our greatest asset: the health of our citizens.
Types of healthcare facilities
The State Health Insurance Fund negotiates the provision of healthcare for its insured individuals with healthcare institutions that are part of the Healthcare Institutions Network Plan. This Network Plan is adopted by the Serbian Government based on the proposal of the Ministry of Health.
The list of healthcare institutions included in the Healthcare Institutions Network Plan:
- Healthcare institutions at the primary (including pharmacies), secondary and tertiary levels of health protection;
- Healthcare institutions specialised in extended rehabilitation;
- Public health institutes;
- Other healthcare institutions included in the Healthcare Institutions Network Plan.
In addition to these institutions, the State Health Insurance Fund has also concluded contracts with:
- Social protection institutions;
- Private pharmacies;
- Institutions outside the Healthcare Institutions Network Plan;
- Institutions providing infertility treatments;
- Institutions performing cataract surgeries;
- Institutions offering haemodialysis services;
- Institutions providing hyperbaric oxygen treatments.
