In the area of education, culture and information, Serbia encourages a spirit of tolerance and intercultural dialogue and takes effective measures for enhancing mutual respect, understanding and cooperation among all people living in its territory, regardless of their ethnic, cultural, linguistic or religious identity. National minorities in Serbia, in addition to rights guaranteed by the Constitution to all citizens, also have additional rights that allow them to decide on certain matters related to their culture, education, information and official use of the language and script, in accordance with the law.
Any discrimination or violent assimilation of national minorities is strictly forbidden in Serbia, as is the encouragement of racial, religious, national or any other type of hatred or intolerance.
