Minister of Health Zlatibor Loncar stated today that the first case of coronavirus in Serbia has been confirmed and that the infected 43-year old man from Subotica is feeling well.
Loncar said at an extraordinary press conference that the infected man repeatedly visited Budapest, where his sister lives, who had respiratory problems, fever and all the symptoms similar to that of coronavirus.
Upon returning to Serbia, he felt unwell and immediately isolated himself, after which he was submitted to analyses and on the basis of the results of those analyses he was placed in isolation in the Subotica hospital, the Minister explained.
Loncar underlined that the competent services have already made analyses to all the persons he had had contact with and the results of these analyses are expected today. He added that the wife and children of the infected man feel well and do not have any serious health problems.
The competent institutions are keeping the public updated and there is absolutely no reason for panic, he stated and added that all the measures put in place will continue to be implemented.
Serbia is absolutely prepared, we will do everything according to the medical protocol, Loncar reiterated and underlined that everything will be provided for the medical treatment of those infected.
