The government of the Republic of Serbia adopted today a series of new measures aimed at suppressing and preventing the spread of coronavirus in our country.
In order to ensure timely and coordinated treatment and undertaking of activities of the competent authorities, organisations and services, as well as other entities related to the control of infectious disease COVID-19, the COVID-19 Infection Disease Crisis Response Team has been established.
Prime Minister o Ana Brnabic, Minister of Health Zlatibor Loncar, Director of the Health Insurance Fund Sanja Radojevic Skodric and Provincial Secretary of Health Zoran Gojkovic have been appointed as co-chairs of the team. The members of this body are the directors of the relevant institutes and clinics, as well as representatives of other relevant bodies.
The Crisis Response Team was formed at the session to eliminate the emerging and prevent the possible harmful consequences of COVID-19 infectious disease in the economy.
Co-chairs of are also President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic, Minister of Finance Sinisa Mali, President of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce Marko Cadez and Governor of the National Bank of Serbia Jorgovanka Tabakovic.
The government also approved a 10% increase in salaries for health care workers and health care providers starting 1 April.
Also, a decision was made to pay all pensioners one-off financial assistance in the amount of RSD 4,000. Retirement payouts will start on 15 April.
The decision to ban gatherings at outdoor sports facilities was made at the session, since a large number of citizens gather at sporting events, who in these situations are at greater risk of spreading coronavirus.
It was necessary to introduce this measure in order to protect the citizens of Serbia.
