The Innovation Fund has approved RSD 53 million to finance 12 innovative enterprise projects aimed at combating the effects of the pandemic caused by the coronavirus.
In the short term, 12 solutions will be developed and available, such as the first Serbian ventilator, a new type of protective mask with removable HEPA filter for multiple and long-term use, disinfection booths intended for use in public places and locations of interest, a mobile counter for contactless use, temperature measurement and manual disinfection, portable ozonizers for fast and safe disinfection of critical objects.
Following the entry into force of the state of emergency in the Republic of Serbia, on Monday, 16 March, and at the initiative of the Prime Minister, the Innovation Fund prepared and issued a public invitation on Tuesday, 17 March.
Due to the need to respond quickly to emerging challenges, the call was open until 24 March.
Despite a short period of time, nearly 300 proposals for innovative projects were received, which has shown the high potential of our innovative companies, but also the importance of financial support as another in a series of measures by the government of the Republic of Serbia to counteract the effects caused by the pandemic.
Given the urgency of responding, the Fund's independent panel of experts gave priority to those solutions assessed to be able to produce the most influential, rapid and strategically important response to specific problems.
The amount of support per project is up to RSD 6 million.
