The Ministry of European Integration announced today that new containers for the triage and emergency care of patients potentially infected with coronavirus are continuing throughout Serbia.
The statement recalls that in the past two weeks, 21 containers were placed in 15 healthcare facilities, most of them in Belgrade.
Minister Jadranka Joksimovic, who is also the national IPA coordinator, stated that the Ministry, in cooperation with the EU Delegation and UNOPS, continues to procure the most necessary equipment to ensure efficient and safe triage of patients, thus preventing of further spread of infection in healthcare facilities and protecting doctors and medical professionals carrying the heaviest burden in the fight against COVID-19.
She pointed out that triage containers are part of a total package for which the EU has allocated €15 million for masks thermometers, ventilators, fans, monitors and other medical equipment.
The procurement and installation of a total of 100 containers are part of an EU assistance package of €4.9 million, and the agreement was signed on 3 April by EU Delegation to Serbia Sem Fabrizi, Minister Joksimovic and Head of the UNOPS Office Michela Telatin.
Fabrizi expressed his satisfaction with the placement of the above-mentioned containers throughout Serbia, from Bujanovac to Senta and from Belgrade to Negotin, because efficient triage is a key factor in preventing the spread of coronavirus.
