Popovic, who is also the co-president of the Intergovernmental Committee for Cooperation between Serbia and Russia, pointed out on that occasion that the relations between the two countries are the best in history.
He pointed out that the level of trade between the two countries is constantly growing.
In 2019, the volume of foreign trade amounted to $3.6 billion, and in the period January-October 2020, the volume of exchange between the two countries amounted to $2.05 billion, said Popovic.
The Minister added that in the first ten months of this year, due to the crisis caused by the coronavirus pandemic, there was a drop in trade of 21.4 percent compared to the same period last year, and added that Serbian exports to Russia for that period amounted to $750 million, and imports $ 1.3 billion.
Our wish is to increase our exports to Russia to $1.5 billion in the next five years, said Popovic.
Popovic expressed satisfaction with the increase in the volume of exchange in the field of agriculture, despite the coronavirus pandemic, and pointed out that in 2019, the exchange of agricultural and food products amounted to $437.6 million, and that in 2020 it will exceed the 2019 level.
