Agreement on supply of 2 more million doses of Sinopharm vaccine signed

Belgrade, 18 March 2021

In the presence of Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, Minister of Health Zlatibor Loncar, Minister of Finance Sinisa Mali and Ambassador of China to Serbia Chen Bo, the Agreement on supply of two more million doses of Sinopharm's vaccine was signed today with that Chinese company.

During the talks with the leadership of Sinopharm Group via video link, Vucic said that the greatest number of citizens in Serbia have received that vaccine and highlighted the importance of signing the new agreement for 2 more million doses.

He underlined that Serbian experts have evaluated very highly the quality and safety of Sinopharm's vaccine and thanked Chinese President Xi Jinping, the leadership of the Communist Party and representatives of Sinopharm Group on the assistance in the procurement of vaccines in the most difficult moments.

President of Sinopharm Group Li Zhiming expressed gratitude to the President and citizens of Serbia on their trust and underlined that since the start of the pandemic in 2020, it was precisely Sinopharm, as the largest pharmaceutical company in China, that assumed responsibility for the fight against this disease.

We appreciate citizens' trust in our product and we are happy to be able to offer the necessary support to the people in Serbia in the fight against the virus, the President of Sinopharm Group said.

One of the topics of the talks was also the construction, reconstruction and the equipment of hospitals in Serbia.
