It was stated at the meeting that the past few years have been marked by improved relations between the two countries, and members of the BiH Presidency expressed gratitude to Serbia and President Aleksandar Vucic for solidarity in the fight against the pandemic and the coronavirus vaccines donated.
Selakovic said that Serbia is interested in preserving peace and stability in the region, especially in BiH, and that it is committed to preserving the integrity of that country, as well as of the Dayton Peace Agreement, which implies the existence of two entities and three constituent peoples.
The participants in the meeting highlighted the importance of strengthening economic cooperation, which can lead to a relaxation of the political atmosphere in the region, and in that context the Mini Schengen initiative was described as a good idea and a way to connect countries and peoples in the Western Balkans, to enable free movement of people, goods, services and capital, as well as joint performance on third markets.
The interlocutors supported President Vucic's initiative to hold an economic forum between Serbia and BiH in Belgrade.
During the meeting, they also talked about the importance of the realisation of infrastructure projects, with the Belgrade-Sarajevo highway singled out as a priority, as well as considering reconstruction of railway connections in the following period.
