In cooperation with the Serbian government and the Republic Health Insurance Fund, a COVID-19 testing centre has been opened at the Nikola Tesla Airport in Belgrade, which is run by "Belgrade Airport" d.о.о, part of the "VINCI Airports".
In this centre, passengers who are departing, arriving or are in transit to countries that require a negative coronavirus test, as well as all interested citizens, can now get tested and get the results at the airport, in order to have a safer and more efficient trip.
The service of testing is available to both domestic and foreign citizens.
The testing centre, which is opened 24 hours a day, is located at Terminal 1 of the Belgrade Airport and offers two types of tests for the presence of the SARS-CoV-2 virus.
The first is real-time PCR test, the result of which is available to the passenger via e-mail within a maximum of 120 minutes from taking the swab. The second is the antigen rapid detection test, the result of which is available to the passenger via e-mail within a maximum of 60 minutes from taking the swab.
The test result is issued bilingually, in Serbian and in English and is sent to the passenger’s e-mail. The result can also be printed in the centre, whereas access to test results is permitted to authorised staff of the competent state institutions only.
It is important that all passengers obtain timely information on the entry requirements of the country they are travelling to before the trip as each country sets its own rules and requirements for the entry and stay in its territory during the pandemic.
The price of the tests is the same as in the competent state laboratories in Serbia and it is RSD 3,500 for the antigen rapid detection test and RSD 9,000 for real-time PCR test, for domestic and foreign citizens alike.
The payment for the test must be done before coming to the registration site. The payment can be done at the counter of “Poste Srbije”, which is on the ground floor of Terminal 1, every day of the week, from 00 to 24 hours.
The registration for the testing is done at the registration site which is located close to the “Poste Srbije” counter for payment or electronically, via eGovernment (eUprava) web portal.
The testing is done by the authorised state intuitions – the Public Health Institute of Serbia “Dr Milan Jovanovic Batut”, Institute for Virology, Vaccines and Sera “Torlak”, Institute for Biocides and Medical Ecology and the University Clinical Centre of Serbia.
The additional authorised state institutions are the Institute of Microbiology and Immunology of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Belgrade, the Directorate for National Reference Laboratories and the Institute of Molecular Genetics and Genetic Engineering.
