Today, Prime Minister Ana Brnabic continued her two-day visit to the Jablanica District by visiting Leskovac, Vlasotince and Crna Trava, where she said that the government has ambitious plans for this district.
During the visit to the General Hospital in Leskovac, Brnabic estimated that a lot had been done in this health institution, and announced the beginning of the second phase of works, which includes a complete reconstruction and procurement of additional equipment, which will cost 42 million euros.
According to her, the first phase of works on the hospital referred to energy efficiency and included repairing the roof, replacing windows and tidying up the façade.
We have ambitious plans for the Jablanica district. After Nisava and Pcinja, I will soon visit the Toplica district, and those visits help me see the priorities on the ground, as well as what people think about our work and what their priorities are, the Prime Minister explained.
She stated that the citizens of Medvedja, where she stayed yesterday, are extremely satisfied with the investment in Sijarinska Banja, and noted that the entire complex needs to be renovated, and the question remains whether to privatize it or leave it in the majority ownership of the PIO fund.
According to her, the plan is to invest approximately 400 million dinars in Caricin grad and to work with Minister for European Integration Jadranka Joksimovic, to find a way to provide European funds for that.
These are all things that have a huge potential, and every investment will return many times over, stated the Prime Minister and at the same time reminded of the initiative to make a road across Radan Mountain, which would connect Kursumlija and Djavolja Varos, Sijarinska Banja and Caricni Grad.
After visiting the General Hospital in Leskovac, Brnabic also visited the wastewater treatment plant in the village of Bogojevce.
She also visited the works in Nikola Pasic Boulevard and on that occasion said that Leskovac is recognised as a local self-government with a favourable business environment, which can be seen by the number of investments and the unemployment rate, which is significantly lower than the national average.
This city helped to reduce the unemployment rate in the entire Jablanica district to 7.1 percent, the Prime Minister pointed out and stated as a problem that the average salaries are significantly lower than the national average.
Salaries are growing in parallel as they are growing in the Republic, but we must work additionally to reduce that difference and to have the Jablanica district that follows the national average in everything except unemployment, in which I hope you will continue to be better, Brnabic said.
She explained that the state is working on that by investing in infrastructure, such as investing in Nikola Pasic Boulevard, which will have four lanes, and added that a sanitary landfill, water supply and sewerage network is being built, but also investments in health infrastructure.
