Prime Minister Ana Brnabic expressed today the expectation that Kursumlija, as a city with three spas, will become one of the central tourist destinations in our country, where 200 new jobs will be created in the next few months.
Brnabic, visiting the works on the reconstruction of the hotel in Kursumlijska Banja spa together with the Minister of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications Tatjana Matic, pointed out that the government successfully worked on the privatisation of some of our old spas and tourist pearls, and one of them is the mentioned spa.
On that occasion, she expressed her gratitude to the private partner "Planinka ad", who bought a hotel in this place and started its complete reconstruction, because it was ruined and without any perspective.
The Prime Minister announced that in September, when the hotel is open, another 120 people will find work there, making Kursumlija one of the central tourist destinations in Serbia with as many as three beautiful spas – Kursumlijska Banja, Lukovska Banja and Prolom Banja and the beautiful Djavolja Varos (Devil's Town).
The whole complex of beautiful nature, but also archaeological sites and cultural treasures of Serbia, is rounded off along the Radan mountain and we connect the Toplica and Jablanica districts, Brnabic explained.
At the same time, she announced that, at the initiative of the President of the Republic, the second phase of production of SDPR, a domestic purpose-built industry, will be opened, which will employ another 80 people, so that 200 jobs will be created in Kursumlija in just a few months.
According to her, with everything we have planned and with the strategic road "Peace Road", which we started to build in December last year and which will enable tourists to get here easier, we will have a much better future for the entire southern part of Serbia.
The Prime Minister stated that the government views the entire Jablanica district as a whole and that it will develop all its parts, and will soon start with other projects.
Namely, as she stated, we will erect a protective fence around the archaeological site Caricin grad, which extends to the territory of Leskovac and Lebane and which is of great importance for Serbia, but also for Europe.
We will try to include it on the UNESCO list of protected areas, and we will also build a visitor centre, invest much more funds in Sijarinska Banja and geysers and additionally invest in Devil's Town, said Brnabic.
