Kosovo and Metohija, energy security priorities of new Serbian government

Prime Minister-nominee for the new Serbian government and the current Prime Minister Ana Brnabic stated today that priorities in the work of the future Cabinet will be the preservation of peace and stability, Kosovo and Metohija and energy security of our country.

In a televised appearance on Radio Television of Serbia, Brnabic said that the new government will be a government of continuity.

Serbia began to change in an incredible way since 2014, and since then it has been a policy of continuity - fiscal responsibility, economic stability, an ever-improving framework of the investment environment, which means a constant increase in wages and pensions, she explained.

The government will insist on the completion of many infrastructure projects, such as road and railway infrastructure, the construction of digital roads through each village in order to prevent internal migration, but also projects in the field of environmental protection - sewage networks and wastewater treatment plants, the Prime Minister said.

Apart from that, additional investment in modern technologies is important, and the next focus is the development of artificial intelligence.

Brnabic stated that she expects the new government to be formed by the end of September and for it to have a stable majority in the Serbian Parliament.

I think that the most important thing about the agreement regarding the government is that we all realise how difficult the current times are and how important it is to have a team that is brave, efficient, that is ready to sacrifice its time, because there really is no room for anything else than dedicated and committed work, the Prime Minister emphasised.
