The two officials expressed their desire to deepen relations through regular meetings at high and the highest level and various types of bilateral consultations, but also trilateral formats involving the Republic of Cyprus and North Macedonia.
Selakovic expressed the expectation that along with the increase in the volume of trade between the two countries, the interest of Greek companies in investing in Serbia will also increase.
When it comes to Kosovo and Metohija, Selakovic informed his interlocutor in detail about the situation in our southern province and the efforts of Pristina to destabilise the situation on the ground through a systematic campaign of intimidation of the Serbian people.
Belgrade, unlike Pristina, is committed to dialogue and solving all open issues by political and peaceful means, and that is why it is very important for us that Greece continues to consistently support the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Serbia and our policy of fighting to preserve peace and stability in the region, Selakovic underlined.
The Minister said that such a policy is reflected, among other things, through the "Open Balkans" initiative, as a process aimed at economic development and better political relations in the region.
The interlocutors also discussed the energy situation, regional and geopolitical topics, and Selakovic emphasised that it is important to make efforts to avoid any escalation in the Eastern Mediterranean area, and that it is necessary to insist on respecting international law and the resolutions of the UN Security Council on which peace in that region rests.
According to him, Serbia consistently supports territorial integrity of Greece on land and sea.
