Brnabic thanked the Deputy Prime Minister on the support it gives to Serbia on its European path.
The Prime Minister stated that during the mandate of the outgoing government, significant progress was achieved in terms of improving fundamental rights, primarily in the area of gender equality and prohibition of discrimination, recalling the adopted laws that regulate these areas.
When it comes to economic relations, the Prime Minister expressed a strong determination to further attract Belgian investors to Serbia, who until now have mostly invested in the sectors of trade, agriculture, information technology and renewable energy sources.
De Sutter underlined that Belgium advocates “strict, but just” approach to the process of European integration, and that in this context it supports Serbia’s accession to the European Union and the reforms it implements on that path.
She also expressed readiness for the improvement of cooperation of the two states at the level of local governments.
Brnabic thanked the Deputy Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Belgium on its efforts and dedication to creating stronger ties between the two countries.
De Sutter spoke yesterday together with Brnabic at the opening of the International Conference on Human Rights, which is being held in Belgrade as part of EuroPride.
