After signing that document, Blagojevic and Monticelli said that the strong cooperation of the government of Serbia, through the Ministry for Public Investment, with the Development Bank of the Council of Europe will continue.
The Minister explained that the EU donation represents a third of the funds needed for the construction of the hospital, and added that the fact that this is the largest donation that the EU has ever approved for one project speaks in favour of how the Union sees its quality and importance, as well as Serbia as a partner.
The children's hospital Tirsova 2, as he announced, will have more than 66,000 square metres, 11 levels, approximately 300 beds, modern equipment, a more efficient heating, air conditioning and ventilation system.
According to Blagojevic, the works on the foundation of the aforementioned hospital have been completed and the construction of the new facility is expected to begin by the end of spring.
Health care in terms of quality and comfort, as he emphasised, will be such that the facility will be able to compete with hospitals of its kind in the world.
It is expected that the first patients will be admitted to that hospital by the end of 2026.
