The contract stipulates that the government of Serbia will assign to the government of Montenegro a software licence for the use of a centralised platform for sending, managing and storing these invoices for a period of three years, free of charge.
The Ministry of Finance of Montenegro approached us in April this year regarding the introduction of the e-invoice system, considering that they recognized the extremely good results and effects that the implementation of that system had in our country, the Minister said.
He pointed out that the system of electronic invoices facilitates the work of the economy, leads to the acceleration of work and business processes and provides greater legal security to all business entities when it comes to the delivery and receipt of invoices, as well as bettering their storage.
Also, the new system should contribute to a much faster VAT return, which was one of the demands of the economy, Mali explained and added that more than 103 million e-invoices have passed through our electronic invoice system.
He emphasised that this system works well, and specified that it currently includes 10,786 users of public funds and 211,445 business entities.
Damjanovic expressed his gratitude to the Serbian Ministry of Finance for its support, and pointed out that the introduction of the aforementioned centralized platform will significantly improve economic activity in Montenegro.
He estimated that it will be a kind of contribution to the acceleration of commodity and money flows within the Montenegrin economy, to suppress the existing level of the grey economy and to solve the challenges faced by Montenegrin companies in the part of VAT refunds.
