Strengthening economic ties between Serbia, USA

Belgrade/Washington, 1 February 2024

Minister of Economy Slobodan Cvetkovic spoke today with American congressmen Robert Aderholt, John Moolenaar and Tracey Mann about the congressmen's further support for the economic development of Serbia and the improvement of the legal framework for cooperation, which would maximise relaxed business and investments in both directions.

Cvetkovic presented Serbia's potential on Capitol Hill, stressing that our country has one of the most encouraging environments for investments in Europe.

The economy of our country is geographically well-positioned and a lot is being invested in infrastructure. In addition, we have an attractive and stable business environment, political and energy stability, as well as a quality workforce that is well-educated, especially engineers and IT experts, the Minister said.

Cvetkovic invited American congressmen to visit Serbia and bring businessmen from their countries, who intend to invest, in order to work even more strongly in the future to strengthen economic ties between the two countries.

The congressmen declared that they will support all those who sincerely work to establish stability in the region, noting that President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic is recognised as a reliable partner in the United States.

They expressed great satisfaction with the dynamic progress of Serbia on the economic front, which, as they stated, represents a true example for the entire region.
