Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Sinisa Mali announced today that the realisation of the project for construction of self-balanced solar power plants with a capacity of one gigawatt with battery systems for storing electricity will start this year, which is the largest investment in renewable energy sources (RES) in Europe this year.

After a meeting with financers of the project, which was also attended by Swedish Ambassador to Serbia Annika Ben David, Mali said that the world's best companies, financial institutions and agencies such as US EXIM, MIGA, the Swedish Export Credit Corporation and others are included in this project.
He underlined that this project, which should be completed in 2028, is expected to provide the additional gigawatt of electricity from RES, with an annual production of 1.2 terawatt hours.
We want further investments and we are always open to talks about innovation and technology. All proposed projects fit perfectly Serbia's plans to follow the Green Agenda, Mali emphasised.
The Deputy Prime Minister invited interested companies to get involved in projects related to the construction of the EXPO complex.
