Today, President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic, together with representatives of the Nestlé Company, opened a new modern factory in Surcin for the production of plant-based meals, in which more than €80 million has been invested.
On that occasion, Vucic pointed out that this company did not ask for any incentives for the construction of the new factory, which employs 220 people, noting that €2.4 billion of direct investments has come to Serbia from Switzerland in the last 12 years.
He stated that Serbia has a large raw material base, that it grows almost all agricultural products, but that it is necessary not only to export them as raw products, but also in the form of compotes, jams and other finished products.
General Manager of Nestlé for Serbia, Montenegro and North Macedonia Marjana Davidovic said that the new factory was completed after two years of continuous work and said that the company wants to continue investing in Serbia, because it turned out to be a good move.
Davidovic specified that the new factory has an area of 18,000 square meters and is equipped with the latest technology for production for the European Union market.
