Vučević invited the trade unions to continue with the dialogue, which led to the fulfillment of a large number of demands for improving the work and position of employees in education.
The Prime Minister pointed out that the government, understanding the importance of investing in education as an investment for the future of the country, signed the Protocol which foresees an increase in salaries for educators and that it expresses the desire to equalise the starting salary of teachers with the average salary in Serbia by January 2025.
In accordance with the Protocol of the government of Serbia and representative trade unions in education, an agreement was reached that in a month the Prime Minister will meet again with trade union representatives.
Union representatives were informed that they are working on reducing the administration in terms of using the new functionalities of eRegister, and further joint work on amendments and additions to special collective agreements was also announced.
Also, government working groups for primary, secondary and adult education will be formed next week, in order to continue the work in continuity.
At the meeting, it was said that the draft text of the Law on Amendments to the Criminal Code, which refers to an attack on a person employed in an educational institution, will be adopted by the end of the year.
The meeting was attended by the presidents and representatives of the Education Workers Union of Serbia, the Education Union of Serbia, the Union of Education Workers Union of Serbia and the Branch Union of Education Workers of Serbia "Nezavisnost".
