Dacic, after the meeting with Johansson and the signing of the mentioned document, pointed out in his address to the journalists that FRONTEX forces will be deployed, not only on the borders with Bulgaria and Hungary, as part of the operation "Serbia on the mainland", but also on the borders with third countries.
According to him, this is the second agreement that Serbia has signed with FRONTEX and it will significantly contribute to our joint fight against cross-border crime and irregular migration.
He emphasised that the agreement will contribute to the efficient exchange of information with EU countries and FRONTEX.
Dačić pointed out that the EU is one of the most important donors to the Ministry of the Interior and that today's donation, which consists of 56 vehicles and surveillance equipment, is only one in a series of EU for the needs of members of the police in all segments of its work.
Previously, during the conversation with Johansson, the Deputy Prime Minister assessed the cooperation with the European Union, as well as with the EU delegation in Serbia, as very successful, stressing that this cooperation needs to be continued and deepened.
Johansson said that Serbia is a key partner of the EU in managing migration along the routes and that during previous visits she witnessed excellent cooperation at the EU border between Serbian border guards and FRONTEX colleagues, against crime, migrant smugglers and irregular migration.
