Vučević assessed that the relations between the two countries are based on the traditionally friendly ties of our peoples and good-neighborly relations, adding that Serbia is committed to fostering partnership ties with North Macedonia and providing support in terms of European integration and regional cooperation.
The Prime Minister emphasised the importance of strengthening cooperation in the field of security, the fight against terrorism and illegal migration, as well as partnership in emergency situations.
Speaking about regional cooperation, he assessed that the agreement within the Open Balkans initiative on border crossings with personal identity cards is an example of good practice in the interest of the citizens of the two countries.
When it comes to the situation in the region, the Prime Minister expressed his displeasure at the decision of North Macedonia to be a co-sponsor of the Resolution on Srebrenica in the United Nations, stressing that such a decision, as well as the adoption of the Resolution, do not contribute to peace and stability in the region and its stronger cooperation.
The Minister of Internal Affairs of North Macedonia expressed his gratitude to Serbia for the assistance of the Helicopter Unit and the Sector for Emergency Situations in mitigating the forest fire that occurred this month in the municipalities of Negotino, Konče, and Štip.
Toškovski stated that North Macedonia is committed to establishing a project for the exchange of police officers between the two countries, primarily in tourist areas, as well as to the establishment of a joint border portal between Serbia and North Macedonia.
