The match lasted for two hours and 52 minutes. This was the seventh duel between the Serbian and Spanish tennis players, and the fourth triumph for Đoković, who won the gold medal at the Olympic Games for the first time in his career.
This is the second gold medal for Serbia at the Games in Paris.
