Strategy for development of electronic communication system until 2027 adopted

At today's session, the government of the Republic of Serbia adopted the Strategy for the Development of the Electronic Communications System in the Republic of Serbia until 2027, which determines national priorities in planning the construction, installation and provision of public electronic communication networks and services of interest for the state and coordinate the activities of all the holders of individual measures for the period from 2024 to 2027.

An integral part of the document is the Action Plan for the implementation of the Strategy, which defines concrete measures and activities in order to carry out the set goals.

The cabinet also adopted the Decree on establishing the Programme for the Development of Broadband Communication Infrastructure in Rural and Underdeveloped Areas of the Republic of Serbia for the period from 2024 to 2026, the aim of which is to provide Internet connection to approximately 880 schools, i.e., public institutions, local communities and other facilities of the republic and local self-government bodies, as well as approximately 152,000 households.

Government members adopted the Decree on the declaration of the landscape of exceptional characteristics "Rajac", which ensures the preservation of exceptional landscape characteristics, position in the region with ambient and ecological significance, symbols of the region in relation to historical significance and natural and cultural values, as well as the authenticity of the natural characteristics contained in relief, geology and hydrogeology.

Also, the Conclusion on consent to undertake the necessary activities for the organization of the event "Sports meeting of young people from the diaspora", which will be held in November of this year in Vrnjačka Banja, was also adopted.

The event will gather around 120 children of Serbian nationality from the region and diaspora (Austria, Italy, Romania, Hungary, Greece, Republika Srpska, North Macedonia and Montenegro).
