Vučević said at the ceremonial academy on the Day of Serbian Unity, Freedom and the National Flag, held at the Serbian National Theatre in Novi Sad, that the denial of the right to exist and survive, as well as the selective and unlawful daily imprisonment of our compatriots, is evidence of the senselessness of the provisional institutions in Priština.
Serbia will never accept the unilateral and provocative moves of Albin Kurti and will do everything to protect the lives of our citizens, guarding Serbia and all its citizens, the Prime Minister said.
He recalled the Battle of Kajmakčalan in September 1916, when the Serbian First Army, at great losses, managed to reach the peak of Saint Ilija at a height of 2,524 metres above sea level, even though the military strategists of the countries of the Central Powers believed this peak could not be taken by force.
The embodiment of that victory was the Serbian flag, which, as he emphasised, was a symbol of the state and freedom. The unwavering will and our sacred tricolour were the essential drivers of actions of one of the most glorious generations of our nation.
By protecting Serbia and all of its citizens through a series of measures announced by President of the Republic Aleksandar Vučić, the fight for the preservation of Kosovo and Metohija, respect for rights and ensuring peace will continue, Vučević concluded.
