By ratifying the Agreement, Serbia will act in accordance with the standard foreseen by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), which requires member states to establish cooperation and coordination of activities between the bodies responsible for search and rescue in civil aviation, with special emphasis on coordination when participating in search and rescue on the territory of another country, as well as in border areas.
This particularly refers to determining the procedures for entering the territory of another country in the shortest possible time and with as little formality as possible, but also to the principles of communication and cooperation in the implementation of search and rescue operations, ease of transit through the territory of contracting parties and other issues.
At the request of the Republic of Serbia, a provision was introduced that the party acceding to the Agreement must be a member of the ICAO, and therefore also a member of the United Nations.
The Bill on the Ratification of the Council of Europe Convention on an Integrated Safety, Security and Service Approach at Football Matches and Other Sports Events was also adopted at the session.
Furthermore, the government passed the Bill on the Export and Import of Dual-Use Goods, which establishes control in the field of export and import of such goods, provision of brokerage services and technical assistance in order to achieve and protect the defence, security, economic and foreign policy interests of Serbia and its international credibility, and ensuring compliance with international obligations in this area.
