Minister of Information and Telecommunications Dejan Ristić pointed out today, at the opening of the 40th session of the General Assembly of PostEurop, the trade association of European public postal operators, that even in the age of digitalisation, postal traffic is irreplaceable and very important for all citizens and the economy.

Ristić pointed out that the members of this association, which together perform postal activities in more than 50 European countries, cover the territory of our continent with 175,000 retail counters, 2 million employees and 72 billion letter items and 5.5 billion parcels delivered annually.
The PostEurope General Assembly brought together the highest-ranking representatives of 55 public postal operators from 53 post-European member states, high representatives of international organisations from the postal industry, as well as numerous officials of the Republic of Serbia.
