The declaration of Kosovo and Metohija as an area of special social protection allows for extending financial support to population categories provided for by law, with the aim of their survival in that territory, and encourages the preservation of cultural and historical heritage with an emphasis on demographic, economic and cultural development.
Members of the government adopted the Bill on the organisation and jurisdiction of judicial authorities in the prosecution of criminal offences committed in the territory of the Autonomous Province of Kosovo and Metohija.
The new legal solutions provide that the Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office and the High Court in Belgrade are responsible for handling cases of criminal offences in the first instance, and the Appellate Public Prosecutor’s Office and the Court of Appeal in Belgrade for handling cases in the second instance.
Also, it is envisaged that the High Public Prosecutor’s Office in Belgrade will establish a Special Department for the prosecution of crimes committed in the territory of Kosovo and Metohija.
The Decree amending the Decree on the distribution of incentives in agriculture and rural development in 2024 was also adopted, which allows for paying an additional RSD 10,000 by the end of November to all farmers who have received the right to basic incentives in crop production in 2024.
At the session, the government adopted the Bill amending the Law on Incentives in Agriculture and Rural Development, which, in the area of plant production, foresees that in 2025 the subsidy for certified seeds will be paid in the amount of up to RSD 17,000 per hectare, which is significantly more than the amount of up to RSD 6,000, as currently prescribed.
