Prime Minister Miloš Vučević said tonight, at a ceremony marking 100 years of volleyball in Serbia, that the state will continue to support volleyball in every way, including the construction of a national volleyball centre.
Addressing those present at the ceremony at Sava Centre, Vučević emphasised that all great deeds were created where there was faith, love and devotion, stating that this is a constant that applies to every human activity, including sport.
Remembering those who founded volleyball in Serbia 100 years ago and those who later brought us immense happiness and pride, sometimes even sleepless nights, but certainly winning medals for our homeland, we remember those who had faith in their success, those who had love for sport and for our country, the Prime Minister emphasised.
According to him, our people, in addition to what a person achieves in their private business or playing for a club, still remember most what they do playing for the national team.
In this way, athletes are inscribed in the collective memory of the nation, he underlined and added that doing something for the community and for the nation is the greatest achievement.
