The Ministry of Science, Technological Development and Innovation announced that the Expo flag was ceremoniously awarded to Serbia in Paris today, as the key symbol of hosting one of the most prestigious international events.
Previously, the General Assembly of the International Bureau of Exhibitions (Bureau International des Expositions - BIE) in Paris unanimously adopted the Recognition Dossier for Specialised Expo 2027 Belgrade, marking the end of the preparation and verification process during which all aspects of the project received official approval and support from the international community.
Specialised Expo 2027 Belgrade, themed “Play for Humanity”, will unite the world in inspiration, innovation and joint solutions to global challenges. The adoption of the Recognition Dossier and the unanimous decision of the BIE General Assembly are further confirmation that Serbia is ready for Expo.
Minister Jelena Begović emphasised that Expo 2027 will bring countries together around the unifying theme of play, sport and music, allowing new bridges to be built between cultures and continents.
BIE Secretary General Dimitri Kerkentzes said that the adoption of the Recognition Dossier gives Serbia the green light to invite the world to the Specialised Expo, so that all countries can together create a brighter, more inclusive future, in which the power of play overcomes differences and unites us all.
The Expo flag arrives in Serbia next week, when it will be welcomed in Belgrade by the highest state officials.
