Prime Minister Miloš Vučević stated today that policewomen are a pillar of the Serbian police, noting that there are no exclusively male and female jobs in any area, as such a division is unsustainable and obsolete.
Speaking at the 3rd conference of the Policewomen Network of the Republic of Serbia themed “From Challenges to Power - Say NO to Violence in All Areas of Life” held at the Palace of Serbia, Vučević said that it should never be forgotten that women often can see what the male principle of thinking is known to disregard.
Vučević pointed out that the time we live in is ridden with challenges, and that humanity is alarmingly far from harmony and balance, without which, as he emphasised, there can be no long-term well-being – neither individual nor collective.
The Prime Minister assessed that the foundation of harmony consists of the female and male ways of thinking, working and applying knowledge, recalling that Serbia had a female ruler in the 14th century, and that the Serbian people had a female National Assembly representative at the beginning of the 20th century, when, as he pointed out, this was nearly impossible in many European countries.
All of this proves how much the significance of women was respected, but it also obliges us to be familiar with and affirm these historical characteristics and facts, the Prime Minister concluded.
