Begović said that this achievement highlights the recognition of Serbia as a dedicated and capable partner in the advancement and responsible development and application of artificial intelligence, adding that the success achieved is also related to the Belgrade Declaration.
Hosting this summit in Serbia was a great honour. We received a positive response and full support from all the member states present. In order for the declaration to be adopted, the European Union still needs to complete its administrative procedure by the end of the year, which means that Serbia is on the right track when it comes to artificial intelligence, Begović underlined.
The Minister stated that during this summit, revolutionary ideas were explored in areas such as biotechnology, autonomous vehicles and health diagnostics based on artificial intelligence and education.
She said the gathering hosted over 1,000 participants, including more than 45 international delegations, world-renowned experts, industry leaders, and representatives from academia and governments.
According to her, this summit is an important diplomatic, scientific and technological event for Serbia, achieved with the invaluable support of the Serbian government, the Office for IT and eGovernment, OECD and UNDP.
Begović added that the work on developing artificial intelligence will continue in the future.
We must ensure that artificial intelligence continues to be developed responsibly and used to drive positive social change. Let's commit to building a future where artificial intelligence not only advances technology but also uplifts communities, creates opportunities and inspires progress for generations to come, said Begović.
