Prime Minister and Presidential Envoy Miloš Vučević announced that the 54.5-km Šabac-Loznica expressway, which connects Mačva and Podrinje, will open to traffic tomorrow at 9:00.
Speaking to reporters on a bus during a tour of the road, Vučević said that citizens will now travel from Loznica to Belgrade in just an hour and 15 minutes.
According to him, this is a big day for Serbia, since more than 78 km of motorway have been built from Ruma via Šabac to Loznica.
The country will complete the Fruška Gora Corridor by the end of 2026, thus connecting Ruma and Novi Sad. Also, by the end of 2025, the Slepčević-Badovinci section, or Pavlovića Bridge, will be completed, with a length of 15 km, the Prime Minister specified.
The Prime Minister emphasised that starting tomorrow, citizens will be able to see for themselves that the Šabac-Loznica expressway is of the best possible quality.
Last week, the first section of the Morava Corridor, from Kruševac to Vrnjačka Banja, with a length of slightly more than 30 km, was opened to traffic, Vučević reminded, adding that it is a matter of days before the last section connecting Valjevo with the Miloš the Great motorway will be completed.
The opening of the road was attended by First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Siniša Mali, Minister of Public Investments Darko Glišić, Minister of Tourism and Youth Husein Memić and other government representatives, Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Serbia Kamil Khasiyev, representatives of companies Azvirt, Roads of Serbia and Corridors of Serbia.
