Prime Minister Miloš Vučević spoke today with a delegation of the World Roma Organisation, led by the president of this organisation, Jovan Damjanović.
Vučević emphasised that the Republic of Serbia is committed to improving the position of Roma in our country and promoting current policies in order to overcome the challenges faced by members of this national community.
The Prime Minister emphasised that Serbs and Roma are brotherly peoples, who have always shared both good and evil, and that the doors of the Serbian government are always open to them.
Damjanović pointed out that today’s meeting is another confirmation that Serbia respects the Roma community and is fully committed to improving the position of its members.
According to him, the Republic of Serbia has made significant progress in this area and, in many aspects, is ahead of other countries, as is the case with the introduction of the Romani language as an elective subject.
