Vučević told the press that it is of strategic interest for our people to continue living in the Pčinja District, and this renovated maternity ward should contribute to that.
He noted that he is proud that the Ministry for Public Investment and the Ministry of Health jointly implemented this project and added that the hospital in Vranje is the closest and most important for Serbs in the eastern part of Kosovo and Metohija who live in difficult conditions.
I hope that many children from Kosovo and Metohija will be born in this hospital. That would be a victory of life over all the challenges and problems that our people face, he said.
Vučević announced that, when it comes to the hospital in Vranje, the children’s ward will also be renovated, emphasising that the growth of the GDP is therefore important, because then there will be enough money to invest in such facilities.
The Prime Minister confirmed that an agreement was reached today at a meeting with representative education unions on their key demands and that the second semester in schools will begin on 20 January.
The first will be a pay raise for employees with Level 7 degrees, teaching staff and professional associates, but we have also included Levels 5 and 6, said the Prime Minister and announced that in March and October there will be an increase of 5% each, and at the end of January 2026, a 7% increase for the entire public sector.
He pointed out that educators will reach the average salary in Serbia as early as with the October salary.
The Prime Minister announced that talks are continuing regarding the collective bargaining agreement, which expires at the beginning of March, as well as on amendments to a set of laws related to education.
