After visiting the Toyo Tires factory in Inđija together with Minister of Economy Adrijana Mesarović, Vučević assessed that this is good news for the Serbian economy, the company’s employees and the municipality of Inđija.
It is undeniable that Inđija is a centre for Toyo Tires’ European activities in terms of production, he said, adding that he hopes the company will also embark on the development of a research and development centre.
Vučević recalled that the factory currently employs approximately 700 employees with a trend of further workforce expansion, which, as he added, is a secure source of income for Inđija’s municipal coffers.
The fact that Toyo Tires has focused on capital investments is particularly encouraging, since it is importing expensive, modern, digitalised equipment to Serbia, said the Prime Minister, adding that this is a 21st century factory, one located in Inđija, not just a catalogue in Japan.
The Prime Minister stated that we will preserve and improve Serbian-Japanese relations, assessing that the arrival of a Japanese company in the country is the best invitation for companies from other countries.
Toyo Tires Serbia, which began production in 2022, manufactures around five million tires annually.
In January 2025, Toyo Tires will establish Toyo Tire Sales and Marketing Europe d.o.o. in Inđija as a new sales and marketing centre for the European market.
The management functions of the current European headquarters in Germany will be transferred to the new company by the end of 2025, with the reorganisation representing part of the company’s global growth strategy.
A new research and development centre is also planned in Serbia, which will strengthen the company’s production, sales and technology structure across Europe.
