At the session, a comprehensive summary was provided of everything that the government has done in the previous two months, particularly in the education sector, Vučević said.
There was a serious interruption in the socio-economic dialogue with representative trade unions in the education sector, following which a new Special Collective Agreement was signed ahead of the previous one’s expiration, and an agreement was also reached on the implementation of previous agreements between the government and education unions, he recalled.
According to him, we are now very close to the common goal defined in terms of the material and economic position of education sector employees.
Also, as he noted, serious progress has been made in talks with employees in social protection.
For the first time in a long while, we addressed the issue of employees in culture, which concerns their income and wages, and at the same time, we held talks with unions at postal company Pošta Srbije, energy company Elektroprivreda Srbije (EPS) and power distribution company Elektrodistribucija, the Prime Minister emphasised.
Vučević pointed out that the state was active in various fields in this dialogue, expressing gratitude to all who showed that they were a constructive party.
At the same time, he pointed out that every day of blockades, strikes and traffic disruptions incurs a significant economic cost for Serbia, noting that this does not send a positive message to potential investors.
This situation is having serious negative economic consequences for the country. I believe that we will emerge from this situation as soon as possible and that politics will return where it belongs – to parliament, debates and the media – and that students will return to their studies, pupils will return to their classrooms and we will continue our path of economic development, the Prime Minister said.
