Minister of Health Zlatibor Lončar today handed over employment contracts to a new group of healthcare professionals who have returned to Serbia after working abroad and will now begin working in healthcare institutions in the country.
Lončar emphasised that the significant number of healthcare workers returning from the diaspora is a clear indication of the progress made in Serbia’s healthcare system.
The substantial state investments in recent years – in healthcare infrastructure, new hospitals, medical devices and equipment – are now coming to fruition, as qualified personnel are the most vital element, the Minister underlined.
According to him, Serbia will continue to pursue a responsible healthcare policy, further develop its healthcare system and provide high-quality and efficient healthcare services, accessible to all.
Approximately 60 healthcare workers have returned to the country through the Ministry of Health’s Office for Cooperation with the Diaspora, while hundreds more have applied to come back.
