Participants in the session noted that the data for the first quarter of this year is yet to be announced, given that its processing is underway.
The members of the GDP Council stated, among other matters, that growth was achieved in the areas of the food industry, agriculture, tourism – in terms of the number of arrivals and overnight stays of foreign tourists, in the banking sector, when it comes to credit activity of both the population and the economy.
It was also noted that the Office for the Rapid Resolution of Problems in the Business Sector had successfully started its work.
When it comes to foreign direct investment (FDI), it was underlined at the session that the level of FDI is stable, and in support of this, it was emphasised that automaker Stellantis in Kragujevac is starting the production of hybrid cars, which are in great demand on the domestic and foreign markets.
This will significantly affect the increase in demand for highly educated personnel in the field, it was noted.
Vučević told members of the GDP Council that, regardless of the current political and social situation, they should continue their dedicated work and make a full contribution to the country’s further progress and development.
