Outgoing Minister of Defence Bratislav Gašić met today with Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and African Integration of the Republic of the Niger Bakary Yaou Sangaré, who is on a visit to the Republic of Serbia with a delegation.
Gašić and Sangaré discussed the possibilities of establishing cooperation in the field of defence, which would also contribute to the improvement of overall relations between the two countries.
Gašić emphasised that Serbia is committed to preserving territorial integrity and sovereignty, consistent respect for international law, preserving peace and stability, as well as developing relations with other states on the basis of equality and mutual respect.
Sangaré pointed out that there is room for improving cooperation in areas of mutual interest, assessing that the two sides should continue communication with the aim of harmonising the legal framework and conditions for future cooperation.
