Born in Futog on 4 October 1968. He received his PhD in 1999, and since 2009 he has been a full professor at the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Novi Sad.

He teaches at all levels of study at the faculty. He is the mentor of several doctoral dissertations and magister’s, master’s and bachelor’s theses.

He has published more than 200 scientific papers of national and international importance.

He is the author and co-author of three books, one textbook and a monograph, five scripts and two computer programme systems, one of which is used at the global level.

He was a leader and participant in provincial, state and international scientific projects.

He spent a year studying at the Ohio State University in the United States of America (1997/1998). He also made multiple study visits spanning from several weeks to several months in other countries.

He is a member of several professional European and world associations: The European Federation of Animal Science (EAAP), American Society of Animal Science (ASAS) and American Dairy Science Association (ADSA).

He is a permanent court expert in the field of agriculture.

Until his election as Minister, he worked as Advisor to the President of the Republic of Serbia for agriculture and agrarian policy.

He has served as Minister of Agriculture, Water Management and Forestry in the Serbian government, Advisor to the Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia for Agriculture, as well as Special Advisor to the Minister of Agriculture, Water Management and Forestry.

He has also been president or member of councils and management and supervisory boards of several important institutions.
