Ilic told Tanjug news agency that the national strategy, apart from other measures and activities, envisages the protection of persons who report cases of corruption, as well as eradication of political corruption.
Also, the strategy prescribes the employment of financial consultants in prosecutor’s offices and the strengthening and linking of anti-corruption bodies, namely the police and prosecution, Anti-Corruption Agency, State Audit Institution and the Directorate for Prevention of Money Laundering.
In order to ensure an efficient fight against corruption, it is necessary to encourage citizens to report cases of corruption, but also provide them proper protection in case of retaliation, which is why the relevant ministry will try to regulate this matter legally in cooperation with other competent institutions by the end of the year, he explained.
