Prime Minister Ana Brnabic announced today that Serbia will donate €2 million for the development of a coronavirus vaccine and support to the World Health Organization (WHO) in fighting the pandemic.
Brnabic said at an online international conference "Coronavirus Global Response", which had been initiated by European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, that €1 million will be earmarked for the development of the vaccine and another €1 million for support to the WHO.
She underlined that it is an honour and pleasure for Serbia to participate in this project together with European partners and to contribute to the global efforts to combat the pandemic.
The Prime Minister also said that our country remains committed to partnering with the European Union, and that it will share its scientific knowledge and achievements with European partners and those around the world.
Brnabic also expressed her hope that both citizens and national economies will successfully overcome the current crisis.
I am very happy that we are united in solidarity against a common enemy. We are grateful for the help the EU has given us in these difficult times and I hope we will all see the light at the end of the tunnel, the Prime Minister said.
She expressed her gratitude to the President of the European Commission for launching this action and bringing together the world's top leaders in the fight against the global health crisis, which also requires a global response.
