Expressing his satisfaction with the frequent and regular contacts of high and top officials of the two countries, Selakovic added that Serbia is looking forward to the upcoming visit of Hungarian President Katalin Novak with great pleasure.
During the talks, special attention was paid to the continuation of the improvement of bilateral economic ties, increasingly intensive cooperation in the field of energy, as well as cooperation through joint infrastructure projects.
The interlocutors also referred to the importance of strengthening regional cooperation through initiatives such as the "Open Balkans", stating that economic cooperation is a good way towards the overall progress of the region.
He once again expressed his gratitude to Hungary for the sincere and strong support it provides to Serbia at the highest political level in the process of European integration and in international organisations.
Selakovic informed his interlocutor in detail about the situation in Kosovo and Metohija and the position of the Serbian people in the province, as well as the efforts of President Aleksandar Vucic to ensure peace and stability in the region.
During the meeting, the ministers exchanged opinions on the situation in the world and the region. Illegal migration was also a topic of discussion, where the importance of interstate cooperation in dealing with that challenge was highlighted.
