The Ministry of Defence stated that today the second part of the contingent of the Serbian Armed Forces was sent to Slovenia, which will participate in the humanitarian operation to prevent, eliminate, mitigate and clean up the consequences of the catastrophic floods that hit that country.

This group includes 34 members of the Serbian Armed Forces who will be engaged in supplying water and fuel, biological disinfection of buildings and land in threatened areas, as well as performing engineering works to clear communications.
The first part of the contingent, with 22 members of the Serbian Armed Forces and helicopters H145 and Mi-17, with equipment for medical evacuation and air transport, arrived yesterday in the engagement zone and this morning began the implementation of tasks in the difficult-to-access mountainous terrain in the north of the country.
The sending of members of the Serbian Armed Forces to Slovenia, who will remain there as long as the situation on the ground requires so, is an indication of the readiness of the Serbian Armed Forces to engage in eliminating the consequences of natural disasters in the country and abroad and Serbia's determination to strengthen good neighbourly relations and cooperation in the region.
