Đurić, who is on an official visit to Greece, expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Mitsotakis for his support for the vision of a European Serbia, emphasising that with our country's accession to the European Union, the position of both countries will be stronger.
The Minister underlined that Serbia greatly appreciates the consistent and continuous support that Greece provides to it in the realisation of its strategic commitment and its foreign policy priority - which is full membership in the European Union.
He also stated that Serbia appreciates Greece's clearly stated position in favour of opening Cluster 3, assessing that without clear progress by Serbia and other candidate countries from the Western Balkans on the path to the EU, there are no solid guarantees for stability in the region.
The head of Serbian diplomacy especially thanked Greece for its support for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Serbia and added that our country supports the territorial integrity of Greece on land, sea and in the air, which also includes the islands in the Aegean Sea.
When it comes to economic cooperation, Đurić stated that it is developing on the basis of a strategic partnership, but that it still does not correspond to the real potential and our common interests.
The Minister stated that Serbia is ready to make additional efforts so that Serbian-Greek economic cooperation reaches the level of political relations.
The two officials also discussed the most important issues in the field of regional cooperation, as well as current geopolitical developments.
During the meeting, Đurić presented the Greek Prime Minister with the original invitation letter from the President of Serbia to participate in the specialised exhibition Expo 2027 in Belgrade, expressing hope that friendly Greece will participate in this event at the highest level.
