Minister of Family Care and Demography Milica Đurđević Stamenkovski stated today that the violent incursion of the Priština “police” into Serb institutions in Kosovo and Metohija, as well as the closure of 35 health and social care facilities, represents an attack on the most vulnerable groups of the Serb population, which stands in violation of the most basic human rights.

Đurđević Stamenkovski emphasised that the closure of clinics, pharmacies and social work centres has the direct consequence of endangering children without parental care, people with developmental disabilities, pensioners and people with disabilities.
Due to the closures, these groups are prevented from staying at care centres in a regular way and from receiving regular social benefits on which their existence depends, she explained.
In addition, due to these usurping acts of the regime in Priština, more than a thousand Serbs employed at these institutions were left without jobs overnight, which put the material and financial survival of their families in question, the Minister pointed out.
