Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija Petar Petković spoke today with Ambassador of the Kingdom of Sweden to Serbia Charlotte Sammelin about the current political and security situation in Kosovo and Metohija.
During the talks, Petković discussed the latest unilateral and violent moves by Priština, resulting in the shutdown of over 35 Serbian institutions, interim authorities, social work centres and Post Office branches south of the Ibar River.
He pointed out that this is an unprecedented act of terror and violence against Serbs, which repeatedly confirm Kurti’s aspirations to expel Serbs and create an ethnically cleansed Kosovo and Metohija.
Petković also warned of the major pressure and obstacles that the regime in Priština is placing before the Serb List, with the aim of preventing its participation in the upcoming elections on 9 February.
According to him, despite everything, Belgrade remains fundamentally interested in preserving peace and stability in our southern province and appeals to the international community, primarily the EU, to use decisive political and diplomatic means to prevent further destabilising moves by Priština.
